Let Go of Limiting Beliefs – Walk Under A Ladder

Bad luck

Let go of limiting beliefs and create a mindset for success!

Yesterday I was having an early morning telephone conversation with Matthew, my oldest son. We got to talking about how we are conditioned to believe stuff, and how we often go through life believing it to be true, whether or not our own experience tells us otherwise.

I used the example of people walking around ladders rather than under them, to avoid 7 years of bad luck (I wonder if anyone has ever been killed because they walked into a road to do that)? We had it drummed into us as children, and so our subconscious mind believes it is bad luck to walk under a ladder.

My son is moving house soon, and he told me that he wouldn’t move on Friday 13th,
even though he didn’t believe in Friday 13th being unlucky. And this gives us a lesson in how our mindset is formed. It also shows us how we can reprogramme it.

Basically our subconscious mind believes anything we tell it repeatedly. If we are continually telling ourselves we can’t do it, we’re not good enough, we could never be successful, that will become our reality.

However, if we develop belief in ourselves, tell ourselves repeatedly that we can do it, we are good enough, we know we can be successful, that will become our reality.

This is very easy to prove, you just have to turn those negative thoughts into positive ones. Keep working at it repeatedly. Notice when you are having negative thoughts, and turn them around. For instance, I can’t becomes I can, I’m not good enough becomes I am good enough and so on.
